I wonder if our creative and talented minds can come up with a commercially
viable project and sell it to the lucky public and use the proceeds
to keep this vital link open instead of donating cash.

Just when I thought I knew it all,
I learned that I didn't.

Tony:

It's already been suggested that we could put the list archives on
CD-ROM and sell them at some reasonable price.  For a number of
reasons, I'm not so sure that this is a good idea, but it's
certainly something that could be voted on by the list-members.

As you know, I personally feel that the best way to bore and
frustrate the members of a mailing list is to fill the list with
discussions ABOUT the list.  Rather than opening up the PICLIST to
discussions about the pros and cons of any revenue-producing idea,
therefore, I humbly suggest that someone with good web-forms
processing software might set up a web-based survey form.  I guess
we'd just have to trust each other not to "stuff the ballot box",
but it would at least be a start.

I suppose we should wait a little while for other ideas to be
suggested, then put all the ideas on the survey form and tell the
list-members where to find it.

So... Who wants to volunteer to set up this survey?

What a great idea! Donate hardware & software designs, PCB's, components and
cables, for the programmer, others could caugh up $19.95 or whatever for the
PIC programmer. Everyone pays, everyone gets a great deal (exept for those
making a selling programmers already).
