Greetings all. I a,m a little confused over the "El Cheapo" pic programmer. I have seen it mentioned on the list several times recently. I have looked on http://www.rentron.com and http://www.myke.com. rentron mentions a version 3.10 of the elcheapo, and the downloaded program is a dos program, presumably to load a .hex fie into a pic. (http://www.rentron.com/Myke4.htm) On myke.com there is a windows file to download http://www.myke.com/elcheapo.htm which gives a 0.84 version windows program which has complete instructions on how to build either on the book pcb or on some veroboard. My question is, is the 0.84 windows version the latest? This list refers to the latest version being the one to get and work from, so before I start, am I working from the latest information?
