Die size and price. -A may also have slightly lower power draw.
-A parts also don't come in seperate XT,RC etc. variants, this is
selected when programming. The only varients are  speeds (-04, -20)
AFAIK the same applies to the -B parts, i.e. no functional difference
as far as the user is concerned
