Hi Piclisters!!!:

       Today I have a system with a PIC16C73A controlling an AC motor-generator
and I need some support of you:

I want to send data via RS-485 from my system (near the motor) to a PC,
so
I would like if you drive me to choose a good idea about the cable, the
plug and the jack to make the data link.

Please If you can write me down some specifics parts from Digikey, Mouse
r,
Jameco, JDR or any other company, please let me know

       Thanks for your time.

imvho you need to use a separating transformer and modified Manchester
coding on RS485 because of the notorious ground loop / raised ground
problems with semi-mobile generators. The other way is an optically
separated interface.

hope this helps,

Peter
