I need help.

We cannot use the WEB or FTP on our net because we are limiting our BYTE
transfers.

Can anyone help me obtain Data Sheets and other references on the PICs.
Data Books are VERY HARD to find in the Philippines.

Please...

Joel:

Try Microchip's BBS.  It's accessible through the Compuserve network
(you don't have to be a Compuserve member to use it).

Access instructions are in just about every piece of Microchip
literature; if you don't have even one data sheet, let me know in
private e-mail and I'll tell you how to get to the BBS.

If you are having trouble obtaining literature through "your local contact"
( a more efficient method for Microchip) you can send a request, with
complete address of course, email to:

       literaturespamKILLspammicrochip.com

for those that CAN use the web, your local contact is listed there.

see ya,

I seem to remember hearing that PIC data sheets were on Microchip's
web site.  If so, I somehow missed them.  Where should I look?

They are under the Application Notes (App notes).

Martin:

They're scattered throughout the web site; there's no one page that
provides access to all the data sheets.

To get to a particular set of data sheets, start at the main page
(http://www.microchip.com) and select one of the 5 or 6 links under the
"Microchip Products" heading (the links are "PIC16/17
Microcontrollers", "Memory Products", etc.).

You'll have to navigate through another sub-menu (for the PIC16/17
section, you'll have to choose among "Baseline", "Midrange", and
"High End", for example), but then you'll finally get to a table
from which you can download the data sheets.

If your text-based browser doesn't support tables, let me know which
data sheets you want and I'll give you the full URLs for them.

They are all under "pub/.../literature/micros" on the FTP site, though.
I've sucked down the FTP site several times for the resources it contains.
Try it sometime (late at night, please).

Putting them under Apnotes makes a kind of sense, I guess.  I just
expected to see a clear title indicating "Data Sheets."  The last time I was
on there I was in a hurry so didn't dig very thoroughly.  Many thanks.
