Right now I am using a D.Tait parallel programmer and the PicSer-software
for programming PIC«s and Smartcards. So far I have used my very old PC for
the programming. I want to use my Pentium II (and WIN95), but the
programming fails. I think the failuere is caused by the PicSer software,
which is proberly not designed for a Pentium II (and WIN95). Do any of have
a piece of software which make me able to use my D.Tait-programmer together
with my Pentium II.

With kind regards

Why don't you try ProPic 2? It's available on the net.

I just had a look at the soft and found it to be a dos program. It will
work under W95 (dos prompt obtained by pressing F8 at boot)
*** BEFORE *** you load the OS. After that, even if you
restart under msdos, the ports are frozen by W95.

hello i bought electronics workbench they mention that if you have
a fast pentium 2 computer you should add the next line to autoexec.bat
set ssi_act=50,50,50
other wise dongle will not react to the printer port
maybe this helps

Many pieces of DOS software now fail on fast Pentium II machines, due to
a bug in the Borland compilers used. There is a patch available on my
website that corrects this problem for programs written using Turbo
Pascal 7.0.

Also on my site are Windows programs for Win3/95 and Win95/NT, both of
these work OK on Pentium II machines and can be configured for David
Tait programmers, perhaps these may be of help.

Including MPSIM which is a pain because I still find it useful.

Well it was always rumoured that MicroChip wrote their software using
Turbo Pascal, so you could always try one of the patches to see if that
cures it?.
