'C compilers for high end PICs!'

Hi!

A former teacher of mine is looking for a C compiler for the PIC
controllers. It can be a commercial, or shareware. It's the school who
will pay for it. But, it needs to support the high-end processors, the
PIC16 ones, and, if available, the PIC17s also.
If someone has a list of some sort, could you please send it to me?
I'm currently without web access, so I cannot go and look for pages on
the subject. But I can view pages locally.

Thank you!
Nuno Pedrosa.

Does the HiTech support PIC17s?  I thought only the Microchip C17 compiler
did?

Bytecraft's MPC has supported the 17's for a while now. Depending on whether
or not HiTech's 17C support has been added to their compiler yet, MPC would
still be the only *single* compiler to support all the PICs. It is certainly the only
compiler that has offered the full (stable) support for the longest period.

Taking into account Microchip's history, I'd stay away from their in-house compiler.

Another important point to consider is that both Bytecraft and Hitech' folks are
very active on the list, and quite willing to help you.
