Hi
I am just about to start studying PIC programming. Are there any good sites
for beginners?
Thanks for your reply.

Saurabh -- the beginners tutorial that Tim Hamel has at
http://pc-tek.hypermart.net/pic.html is **Excellent*. There is a lot of
information on the PIC but I especially found that one the most useful when
starting to learn PIC's.

Hi,
I downloaded the guide at:
http://pc-tek.hypermart.net/pic.html
(quite an excellent guide)
However, I noticed that there are certain examples missing (that have been
referenced to...) eg. on subroutines are missing. Is there any place, where
I could download the complete guide?
Thanks in advance for the info.

Hello,
Could you possibly give specific examples? The guide I have on my site is the
complete thing.

Thank you for your reply.
For instance subby.asm is referenced as an exercise but doesn't exist in the
Appendix. (The author says "See Subby.asm" but this file does not exist any
where in the guide). There are a few other such files.

Hi, Tim
I love this tutorial a lot.
Any idea where to get the micro chip application note mentioned in this
beginner's tutorial ?
PIC - DS30445A and MPASP - DS33014D.
I can't find in the Microchip web site.

Well...this is perplexing, I'm not sure WHERE subby.asm is. Like you said, it
should be in the appendix, but isn't. The tutorial was distributed in whole
(and unmodified). I can't do anything about the errors.
Sorry,
Tim Hamel

Hello,
I do not see this app note mentioned anywhere in this tutorial. Maybe if you
could give me a general area within the tutorial you saw it?

Hi, Tim
Thank you for your replied.
I am downloaded this tutorial from your web site too, at foot note (page 6),
Mr Jim Brown noted as below:
****************************************************************************
***********************************************
The versions I have are: [PIC]- DS30445A, 1996; [MPASM]- DS33014D, 1995
I have 3.22.02, 1997
Foster, Caxton C. Real time programming- Neglected Topics. Addison Wesley
1981. Look at QA76.54.F67 (Library of Congress system) or 001.644 (Dewey) in
your library for this and similar books. Although of 1981 vintage, the code
in this book is readily adaptable to the PIC, and of course the principles
are still the same.)
****************************************************************************
***********************************************
The original Application note needed, believe it will be benefit to me (a
beginner).
Thank you

Well..I can't find any reference to DS30445A in this tutorial at all. But..if
I'm not mistaken, you're probably needing the 16C84 datasheet. Since the 'F84
is the 'C84's big brother, you'll have to get that datasheet. Take a look at
Microchip's site: http://www.microchip.com.
Good luck,
