'B.LO.C help needed'

Hi,

I have taken on some work which requires me to modifiy some
PIC code written in/with B.LO.C.

The original engineer has left the company and taken with him
his knowledge of the project and (this is the problem) the
B.LO.C manuals.

I am struggling to compile the code; I invoke the compiler with:

bloc <source.c >outfile.txt

The compiler operates, lots of errors scroll up the screen and
a message at the end says that there were x fatal errors - the code
is probably bad.  It doesn't, however produce a file with the
errors detailed.

Can someone tell me the correct way to invoke the BLOC compiler
so that I can see the errors, also, details of how to get
from the bloc code to a hex file that can be used to program
the PIC.

Thanks for your help,

Mike Watson

Mike:

I can't help you directly, but I can give you contact information
for the company that wrote B.LO.C; maybe they can send you copies of
the manuals:

   Butterfly Signal Processing, Inc.
   131 Bloor Street W., Suite 200
   Toronto, Ontario M5S 1R8 Canada

   tel: 416 929-5754
   fax: 416 968-7492

When you call, ask for Anees Munshi.

Thanks for this, Andy.

I was going to persue this, but thought that the PICList would provide
the required information faster - I'm going in to the company tomorrow
and hoped to be sorted before I got there.

Douglas,

Thanks for the link, but I need to make some fairly small modifications
to existing production code, rather than starting from scratch.

Knowledge about the B.LO.C compiler really is the only way forward on
this one.

Mike Watson
