I am looking into high speed optical pulse detection.  Does anyone
have any pointers to info on avalanche photodiodes?  Looking for
manufacturers, web pages etc.

I want to be able to detect faint pulses of 5ns, extending the pulse
to 2us so I can use a PIC to count pulses.  Av diodes have very high
GBW (100GHz).
