Hi Has anyone used a PIC or a Stamp to interface with GM or chrysler OBDI or OBDII outputs to read sensor data and trouble codes? Where can I find more info on this? Thanks Jon

I haven't done anything with GM or Chrysler, but I have done some stuff with Ford. I have in the works now a code scanner that will give me error codes and their meaning for cars prior to the 3 digit error codes. I'll work on the 3 digit codes once the 2 digit codes are working. If you want any info about Ford, let me know and I'll pass on what I can. The OBDII standard is outlined in the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) document J1850. I was just looking at this on their site the other day but was unwilling to pay $100 Canadian to get this document for a hobby. If anyone is register as a SAE could they make this document available? A site which gives you all the codes (should be the same for every make, "STANDARDS") is http://www.obdii.com I couldn't find anything on OBDI which naturally is what I need for my car. :-( Wendall
