Hi all
Does anybody know where I can find in the Web a circuit of a serial
programmer for ATMEL 89C2051?
Is there some serial programmer for ATIMEL as simple PICPROG or PIP02 ?
I woud like a simple one.
Thanks in advance.

I have only worked with the 89C1051, but I believe the same programming
is done on both. If so, there is no simple serial programming. 8 bits of
data are placed on P1 in parallel, 4 bits on P3.3, P3,4, P3,5 and P3.7
set the mode. P3.2 is the programming pulse, and you need to toggle
XTAL1. I built a programmer for the '1051, but it required a parallel
port and several support chips.

AT89C2051 can be programmed in parallel mode only. For cheap programmer try http
://http://www.elnec.com/51&avruk.htm.

Hi,

simply look for it. I have seen this on a Thai (.th) site. It is not so
simple as for PIC, requires an embedded uC. However, communicates via
RS232. I have seen also another thing ( .specs.de) which claims to be
capable to program most of this chips.

Regards,
Imre

As Imre states, requires an embedded uC. I haven't seen an rs-232 one
that doesn't yet for this family.
for what it is worth, there is a pdf schematic at:

or parallel port driven simpler ones at:

Look at http://www.elnec.com/51&avruk.htm. (Slovakia).

For PICs see http://www.elnec.com/pikpg_uk.htm. All 8-40 pin PICs, not 17xxx, 18
xxx included. I bought one ($80) and it seems super.
