Hello!

I would like to make a low-cost programmer for 16F87X PIC-s (it's also good if it programms only a 16F873). Does someone know where (on the net) could I find it?

Thanks in advance
Andrej Vuga

http://www.mpja.com/ has a PIC programmer kit for $16.20. If you add a 40
pin ZIF Aries socket from http://www.jameco.com/ for $14, the total cost is
about $40 with shipping from both places, and you can program most 8, 18,
28 and 40 pin PIC chips. Just try off the LVP fuse before trying to program it.

The Dobaj software is available from the internet (instructions included
with programmer). It costs an additional $30.

Don Electronics also sells these parts. He ships from Australia to anywhere
in the world at reasonable cost.

He'll probably answer himself, since he's a member of the list.

Most 16x84 programmers seem to work provided that the associated PC
software can handle the differences.
for instance my http://www.xs4all.nl/~wf/wouter/pic/wisp

But did you consider a 16f87x self-programmer / downloader? My WLoader is
only for 16F877,
but it should be easily adapted to any 16F87X (but I have only f877's so I
won't do it for you).
http://www.xs4all.nl/~wf/wouter/pic/wloader also contains links to two
other downloaders,
maybe one of these supports 16f873.

regards,
Wouter

Hi I have a site but I didn't try the software.

This page/software claims to be able to program 16f87x and 16 series(most
not all)

Did anyone mention Tony Nixon's improved 16f87x bootloader?

<x-flowed>Hi PICster's,

I would like to build a low-cost programmer for PIC16F87X.  I know that
ROMZap allow to program 16F873, 16F874, 16F876, 16F877.  These programmer
are avialable on:
http://www.picnpoke.com/demo/ROMzap.html

But I don't want to use it because I don't want to use their boot code.  I
just want to program the PIC.

Is there somebody who have an other schematic and a software to program
16F87X?  Do you know a web site where I can get a schematic and a software
to program theses PIC?

Thanks,
Tomy
