My question is, the data sheet states that it is for the PIC16C84, can I use it to program PIC16C73A's and 16C76's ?? Also, Is there any software to control this programmer that will let me modify it to work for the above devices? Many thanks.

No, you can not use the same to program 16C73 if the programmer is for 16C84 only. The timing is diferent.
