I need to find a 12vdc modem for a remote access data logging project. The modem has to operate to -40 and be low power for battery operation. Anybody out there know where I can find such an animal?

A us robotics external modem should work fine.. just drop the 12 volts to 9volts and there ya go. I'm not sure I understand the Bell 212 standard, but you might try either the MX-COM MX 614 for Bell 202 or the MX 604 for v.23. They are relatively cheap, supposed to be good to -40 C and consume 1mA @ 3.3 volts. You'd need to regulate down the 12 volt supply. John Hansen
