'[ot]: The Segway - misses the point??'

Does anyone else think the segway transporter is the stupidest thing
since the Left, or is it just me?
People don't drive because of the 'distance'
People will drive from one door to another door, in a shopping mall,
I've seen it and done it. So it isn't because of the distance involved, or
how efficiently you can traverse the distance. People are not that lazy,
something else is going on to make people drive this way and the other
ways that they do.
I wish the segway people success and good luck, but geeze, louise, I
think they are off on a tangent here.....

Seems pretty far out to me, but I recently read in the media that
Amazon.com is naming this one of their top sellers (of course, they're not
shipping yet, at least they weren't at the time I read the info).
Oh yeah ... I also believe everything the media tells me! ;-)

I don't know but my idea of a vehicle for that kind of application would
be an electric scooter (the kind you stand on) or a motorised skateboard.
Both exist and cost significantly less than the Segway. But then they are
uncool and not bestsellers.
