Interesting article at MIT news.

Using a virus called M13  (doesn't that run to Southend?) carbon nanotubes can be prevented from clumping together allowing them to be sued to enhance power conversion efficiency.

Any power conversion system that relies on lawyers is doomed to failure.

I dunno, I kinda like the idea of being able to take legal action against uncooperative electronics...
Got a couple of prime candidates right here at the moment :-)

As long as they are not Chinese electronics or under Chinese Court jurisdiction.
(Too much like not a joke, alas).

Well OK. apart from my lapsus digitalis, the idea seems interesting, add that to a viral battery and solar power could be spawned in all sorts of ways considered at the moment to be inefficient.

Something that isn't clear to me; is the virus used only for the
manufacture of the panel, or does the virus have to remain "live" within
the panel during it's lifetime?

Regards

Mike

Interesting point, I took the blurb to mean the virus was used during the manufacture as inert. Basically it is a carrier whose 'dead' properties allow the rest of the process to take place.
