Hi, I need to swap out a hard drive in a mini laptop. The laptop did not
come with a back up disc nor does it even have a cd drive. The drive it came
with is an 8Gb and I want to put a 80Gb. The OS=win-xp. I do an external HD
I can connect to the USB port.
Thank you
Pete

You need to purchase some disk imaging software - likely candidates
are, Acronis, Symantec and others that may pop up on a Gurggle search.

Are you sure that a 2.5" drive would fit in such a laptop or are you
intending to buy a SSD?

You don't need to purchase anything. There are several free/open
source products that image/clone disks very well. Alternatively, you
may consider reinstalling your operating system.
