I think that Jon means the SX-48/52 demo board which is a real 'steal' for $9.95.
William Chan, yur a great inflation figher. But something has to pay for all this human support. There are still Sx-18s and the SX-28 rails on sale. Oh, and their is the SX-Blitz for those that cannot afford the SX-Key.
Try looking at the sale area.

Indeed -- we were asked to provide bare boards for $10, but my boss (Ken) loves to give our customers more than they expect so he decided we'd stuff them and keep the price at $10. It's hard to beat that kind of deal.
William, we're doing everything we can to keep SX prices fair and still provide you a high-level of support. I think you'll find that when you're ready to do a big (10K+) OEM deal the prices get better than the low-volume pricing we publish. That said, no matter how many SX chips you want to buy, we'll be here to help out as best we can.

William,
Of course the prices will be lower - much lower.
But as you know from other posts, this isn't happening until we get our first Parallax labelled SX chips in November.

If you haven't tried SX Sim you should - I have found it very helpful when working through programs, and it doesn't require the SX-Key. SX-Sim is built into the latest version of the SX-Key IDE, so you may want to download that if you don't already have it.

Here's to the simple things, that would have probably saved me some headaches with weird time sequencing issues on the last project. Just been building and debugging on the bench, the comment about not being able to use the debug was because I have no clue what I'm looking at in Assembler, the key I have, the knowledge I dont, maybe this time next year I'll have a better handle on it. Downloaded and installing. Thanks :)

What I like about the SX-Sim is that it has an I/O panel so you can simulate simple inputs and see what happens at the outputs.

The real advantage of the SX-Sim is that you don't have to plug in a board and power supply and SX-Key to work through the tutorials.
It simulates all that!
Far less clutter and you can jump into a quick review or study session.

William,
Timely request!
We've only got SX28AC/DP and SX48BDs left from Ubicom, and over 150K Parallax-labeled SX chips in our inventory with man more on the way. As promised, we have both leaded and RoHS-compliant packages in our inventory. The Parallax SX chips still have to undergo testing, but the pre-qualification is complete. Within two weeks I expect us to be well underway with the testing program and then they'll be for sale. And as promised, we will now be able to offer lower prices. Today we were able to roll up our new costs and we're now in the process of defining the correct retail/distributor prices.
A new Parallax SX datasheet is prepared and will be available within a few days.
We appreciate the patience our customers have shown. We're in a backorder situation at the moment but our customers are being supportive.
We hope to have a marketing announcement within a week.
Sincerely,
Ken Gracey

Are all the SX-18s gone?!
I was thinking of grabing a few of those as they are rated at 75Mhz.

Hey Kramer,
SX18s are all gone, both in 50 and 75 MHz. We are able to make these again in the future and will evaluate doing so, but only after we get our current plans underway.
