Is this mainly a UK thing?

I pick up EPE every so often and saw this article.

Haven't had any luck finding the boards at Digikey, JDR or Jameco.

Any thoughts?

thanks

No ideas on where to buy, but this will save me from creating a few
templates for Protel, it would be nice if I could specify Perfboard.

Perfboard is the version with solder pads with no joining strips :o)

Regards,

Kat.

Charles,

If your looking for stripboard, it tends to go under a lot of different names.

Vero board I think was the original name in the UK (Vero are a UK company who manufacture it)
It's also called strip board, matrix board, SRBP board.

Be careful though. There are several types, with holes of different sizes and spacing and some boards don't have the copper tracks on, their just plain - they tend to be called matrix board but I've seen exceptions.

Tandy/Radio Shack used to do it in the UK many years ago before they stopped selling electronic components.

RS components (don't know if they have a offshoot in the USA) stock it as part nos. 433-826 & 434-217
From their web site: rshttp://www.com
Description   PCB, stripboard, breadboard, Veroboard, SRBP, hole pitch 0.1in, 95x292x1.6mm RS Stock No.   433-826 Manufacturer   APW ELECTRONICS Part No.   053939D NATO No.   5999997195217
I did a quick net search and found this article
http://www.ee.washington.edu/circuit_archive/text/guitareffects.html

Half/three quarters down, it lists US suppliers that can be used to source the parts for the effects project described. I'm guessing that one of them should be able to supply your strip board since it was mentioned in the article.

It may be. The trade name here for it is Veroboard, as it is made by the
company that makes Vero rack enclosures (among other things). You could try
Farnell http://www.farnell.com/ who seem to be happy to export to the USA.
Look for catalogue numbers as follows

Eurocard (160x100mm) single sided strip board  # 451-058

Single sided strip board, 0.1" pitch 366mm x 114mm # 147-899
ditto                     0.2" pitch 457mm x 122mm # 147-897

These have the strips running longways along the board. There is also an X-Y
double sided version with the strips at right angles on the two sides. 0.1"
pitch, 244mm x 221mm # 147-900.

All boards are SRBP, not fibreglass.

HTH, I had to open the catalogue anyway.

Aren't you in Australia ? Check Farnell item #823-417, 823-429, 823-430, and
823-442. These are all Eurocard size, half of them are SRBP, the others are
fibreglass, but not sure from the catalogue what the other differences are.

Farnell -
http://www.farnell.com/
Their first web page is full of flags so expect they exist outside our
Island.
search for stripboard produces 8 items. e.g. 451-058, 147-899 etc

or have I misunderstood the question??

George Smith

The stuff we buy is called Veroboard and is manufactured by Vero.  I've
been using it for at least 25 years now - its available from Arrow and
Future and others.
