I want to use a PC to communicate with a PIC (16F877 as slave) using I2C
protocol. Does anyone have an idea how the implementation of the I2C
protocol on the PC side should be?
Any suggestions, advise and reference would be very much appreciated.
THanks.

Victor

if you want to simply buy a device that you can hang on the back of your
pc that implements the i2c bus, check out the "iPort" from Micro Computer
Control:

http://www.mcc-us.com

these use a serial port - you communicate with the device either directly
via dll, or by sending ascii commands to the port.

Mike, Dig in here.

I used the I2C code found here with VB to create an EEPROM downloader. This
used the I2C protocol to load an EEPROM via a very simple interface with
some data.

Hope this helps you.  Chris
