No problem. First tell me the version code under your psx.
Then tell me what game is causing problems.
After that I can mail you proper code and parhaps diagrams too :-)

I am interested in being able to burn chips for the PS1. What type of
programmer would I need and in what language etc? I have an EPIC programmer
and program in PicBasic.

Hmm.. Doesn't the piclist police itself well enough? There are plenty of
posts I find offensive and I just use the DELETE key. Reading your other
post, Jory seems to take what I would consider a very sensible "hands-off"
approach.
I have seen threads that go on seemingly forever that involve sadistic
things planned for animals to keep them off of lawns and out of gardens. Is
sadism allowed on the piclist if it has [OT]:, but Playstation talk is
forbidden because Sony needs protecting? Wake up and smell the coffee, Sony
is quite capable of protecting itself, and cares for you only as far as
getting your money.
Granted, most of the Playstation stuff is non-technical, but I enjoy
reading threads related to encryption and copy protection and
countermeasures, even when it relates to our beloved PICs and attempts to
read protected ones.
Security through obscurity is not security. I prefer the free-speech
approach. It's because of public discussion that Microchip improved the
security of PICs two years ago.
I've never used a Playstation or read a copy-protected PIC, reading about
the process is as close as I'm likely to come, but I find it interesting
and it is basically harmless.
James, please do not take it upon yourself to ban people for discussing
these topics.
Sincerely,
Bob Blick

Not sure the version code. Model is SCPH-101, PS1, SCEA/NTSC. Hope this
answers......
Any "backup" will cause me troubles. In fact, with the various chip
versions I tried, sometimes even an original game won't boot.

I'm not trying to cross any lines. I'm not trying to "crack" anything.
These things have been done already. I DONT pirate CDs. I definitely DO
manage to get some foreign games and DO make legal backups of my games. My
grandkids tend to be a little rough on the CDs. I just purchased a newer
model and am asking fellow PIClisters for some help.
Now, if the exact subject of finding PIC code is not allowed in this list,
please just point out the PICLIST rule and I will abide. For as far as I
know, I've been doing my best to follow the rules while being part of the
group for a couple of years now.
