I looked at them about 18 months ago for my company, but it was for exactly these reasons that we decided against them. Same story with (the now discontinued) HP 1451.2 chip. What was that thing called? It was a web server ASIC with this really nasty 10 pin synchronous serial interface to a controller module. Utter crap, IMHO.
