Did a Custom serial data logger. and found that the SanDisk MultiMediaCard Product Manual was able to confuse me. Then ... Ever tried dumping 32mb to computer via serial port. Was better to remove MMC and read data directly via USB adapter. Did the logger use USB to talk to computer ? NO Why? ..... its chip was a 16F628. So ... How long will an 8 channel logger run? = (~32Mb / bytes per logged reading) * time between readings. in this case we recorded 10 bytes per reading, including a 4 byte date/time stamp. (Time between was variable) It was an interesting project, With nice little side issues like, Where do you store "Next_Sector pointer"? --- MMC Card writes one 512 byte sector a time. --- logger may be turned off at *any* time. --- MMC Card may be removed at *any* time. --- Application defines Data store as cyclic buffer.
