Looks quite interesting, Right now it supports PIC32 with 512KB
Flash and 128K RAM. Two boards (with PIC32MX795) are supported
out of the box.
Target board: Sparkfun UBW32.
Target board: Digilent chipKIT Max32.

Ok, that's really cool. I would like to order a few weeks of free time
to play with that - anyone know someplace that sells free time for,
well, free?

I believe it is known as 'holidays', but they are rare and not often seen .... ;)))

I think the Digilent board is shown in the pretty pictures on the microchip home page. Not sure about the other board they picture there.

Oh come on.  The entire kernel, including comment and whitespace
lines, is less than 20,000 lines of code.  How hard can it be?  ;-)

(seriously, though, all I have had time to do is git the source and
run "wc -l *" in the kernel directory.)
