If you guys will close the Yahoo JAL list I'll be happy to add a tag for
[JAL] on this list.
No more Yahoo ads... No more everyone in the world being able to read your
email addresses... (just most people <grin>)
And lots of cooperation on issues of EE and PIC.
I've already added SX and AVR and they see very little traffic. SX people
post on the parallax forum and AVR people have their own lists, so it makes
no sense to add JAL unless there is a closure of the Yahoo list.

did you CC to the jallist? some people there were complaining about the
occasional spam (I have never seen spam on the piclist), but personally
I never found that a problem. I don't care, I read both (and the yahoo
piclist) anyway.

I think I'll be sad. There's about 4 or 5 years since I'm visiting this list.
High quality "old boy" people there. High fantesy. Enlighten minds.
And proffesional guys.
The only advantage of jal list versus pic list is the relative low
numbers of posts which makes it much easy to read. The posts on
piclist are too long, too much poetry. Like my answer here.
cheers,
Vasile

You should try the 7x10-Minilathe list. 90% politics, 1% about lathes, and
the other 9% made up of the occassional post asking why there is so much
politics. The list is actually made up of a bunch of experts who know
everything and so don't need to ask/discuss much else.
BTW, why require the Yahoo JAL list to be closed? Why not add the tag here
anyway, and if people wish to use this one instead, they can do so?
Cheers,
-Neil.

Does that mean we can have [TECH] and [WOT] after all :-) ?

James,
There's no reason to close the JAL list. Also if you going to add a tag, it
should be generic. Maybe something like [HLL]. That'll cover JAL, C, Forth,
NPCI (as I start to ramp it up this fall), and the like.

I don't think C and Jal users will be very interested in each others
discussions. Also Jal is much more specific than C: maybe there should
be [C30], [HitechC], etc.
Or just keep it as is...

My guess would be that having a JAL tag here with the JAL list running means
most people will feel the need to cross post questions to both places, and
most active participants be on both lists, effectively making everything
happen twice.
I've been a lurker (and sometimes poster) on the Yahoo JAL list for about a
year since I discovered JAL. It is a good list, but I don't really like the
Yahoo list interface.

There was no need to CC it once I looked up the pragma command you provided
here. I do read the Yahoo JAL list though.

You can receive the JAL-list as email,
besides it's far more easier to read,
you'll build up your archive.
