Hi,

I'm planning to use full RS232 on my board. I connected RB4 as DTR and RA5
as RTS. I'm using Sipex211EEA driver and PIC18F8621. Both RA5 and RB4 are
connected to transmit pins on Sipex.

The problem is that when I want to have 1s as an output on RB4 and RA5  (
PORTBbits.RB4 = 1 and PORTCbits.RC5 = 1) the output voltage on both pins is
about 2V and the output on Sipex is about 2V also.

When I'm not using handshaking ( DTR/DST and RTS/CTS) I can send and receive
data without any problems.

Where could be the reason of that 2V on RA5 and RB4? PIC, Sipex?

Thank you very much.

Sam

Sam, a schematic with the relevant parts shown would be helpful.

Best regards,
