I'm so close to getting MAPM to work on C18 but I need a way to get
the c functions malloc, realloc and free to work on it. Is there a
way?

I don't know whether C18 has native support for a heap (check the
documentation? :) but if not, you'd have to set aside a part of the
PIC's memory (so that it isn't used by C18) and write your own
implementations of these functions to handle memory allocation in this
area.

I don't see why not.

You could try my implementation:

I did not implemented realloc, but malloc and free work very well. I use
these routines everyday and they are very stable.
If you really need it, you could implement realloc (and share the code).

Best regards,

Isaac
