face picon face
Anybody here has implemented USB in one of those?

I have implemented rs232 communications with the PC in the past and I found that very easy. How does it compare with implementing USB with those pics?

The application: a mobile robot. there will be a PC as a main computer unit that must communicate with actuators and sensors that are plugged to a RS485 bus. My original thought was to implement a root node that translates rs232 to rs485. If I replace the rs232 by usb then I'd have more speed to work with right?

The development platform that I use implements usb as hid. Will this limit my application in any way?

TIA

Padu
