Are there any other cheaper programmer (cheaper than
ICD2) which support dsPIC?

I just come across the dsPICprog from mikroElektronika.
It is not really very cheap (US$89+ US$25shipping).
However it looks quite sleek.

www.mikroelektronika.co.yu/english/product/tools/dspicprog.htm
"USB 2.0 In-System programmer
for Microchip dsPIC microcontrollers.
dsPICprog is a programmer for the Microchip's new dsPIC microcontroller
family. Scalable architecture allows you to be up to date with new
Microchip's products in the future...
Price: $89.00 USD
Shipping: $25 USD"

SparkFun just added a new low-cost (US$52.95), micro-sized (housed in
a DB9-DB25 adapter shell) ICD2 clone.  It is serial input only, and
has the preferred 6-pin in-line header as output (just like the
current Olimex clone.)

It claims full ICD2 compatibility, so one would assume it does dsPIC
as well as PIC.  The guys that run SparkFun have been very responsive
to my questions in the past, so I'm certain they can confirm/deny
dsPIC compatibility for you.

If you wind up purchasing the unit, please post a report back to the
list.  I'm getting some friends interested in PIC programming, and
this unit appears to be the ICD2 clone of choice...

Sorry but I have an ICD2 so I will not buy a clone ICD2.
I did try the simplest clone out there and had some
mixed results. I end up getting an original ICD2.

I do not quite like ICD2 as a programmer and that is the
reason I am looking for more choice.
