Hello, I am always zapping things wit static accidentally, and was wondering whether I had zapped my pic. I am using a sort of kit varient  of the pic16pro programmer. and a 16f84 chip. I can read the contents of the pic, verify it, blow fuses, and write a blank program to it, but canot write a program of substance. It gives me the error:

Verify

Program Error
Program: address=0000 buffer=3000device=3FFF

Please help, thanks.

It could be that your PIC is damaged, but I'd look at a few
other things.  In particular, my PICALL programmer displays the
same message whenever there's an unexpected programming error.
On two separate occasions, the voltage regulator has died and I
received this message.  If you have a meter, confirm your power
supply voltages; in my case +5V and + 13V.

Also, check to make sure that no other programs are attempting
to access the parallel port.

Cheers,
Andrew
