   You're correct, of course... But I DO have an excuse.

   I mean, I work for a company that makes 8051-based
   microcontrollers; I can't be expected to know all these little
   details about PICs.

Naturally not! It's a bit academic in any case 'cause it's still no go
even with 0x0C. Triple checked the circuit - AOK. I dunno - maybe some
things just aren't _meant_ to be done!

I'll keep fiddling with it, just in case, and I'll leave the file at

Guess the next move will be to get rid of the KPD & interrupt and just
duplicate the working 16C57's test message only and see if that works.
