Hello,

the only "PICmicro Mid-Range MCU Family Reference Manual" I can find on
Microchip's website is dated 1997 and have the MSSP section labeled as
preliminary.

There's an up-to-date version of this manual somewhere? Is this
preliminary section a trustful documentation relative to PIC16F877?

   Thank you very much,

   Brusque

Not that I know of, but there is another document that pertains to slave
I2C in hardware.  It is DS00734A and the code examples it has only run
once, because it does not ACK, so remember to do this when you test their
code.

Best of luck.

Cheerful regards,

Bob Blick

are you sure "DS00734A" is the correct number of this document? I've
searched all Microchip web site and haven't found it.

   Thanks,

If you do a search for "ds00734" you will not find it. Search for "734" and
you might, or just look through the application notes for AN734. It is a
silliness of the Microchip search engine.

I don't know how Microchip's search engine works but I've
failed to find DS files too, even though they do exist at their
site. Try searching by subject instead - that will often lead
to a list that you can read
