hi list, I am trying to use PORTA as input in vain, to put 0 or 1 on these pins doesn't work, I have used I pull up resistor for the portA pin. What family of PICs are you working with? AFAIK, PORTA is usually associated with the ADC and is configured as an AD input on reset... so you need to check your AD registers and configure the PORTA to be a digital IO. At least that's it for the PIC16 family (which is the one i'm in touch with...)... Hi Mustapha, Usually when something like that happens to me, it is comparators or A/D converters that I have forgotten to disable. If you tell me what PIC you are using it'll be easier to diagnose. If this is your first time playing i/o ports try using PORTB. Simpler to use.
