Hi all !
You all claim that the 16F628 is cheaper than the 16F84 but where ever i look (Farnell DK, and danish shops etc..) the 16F628 is 3£ more expensive than the 16F84 !
I would like to purchase 100 pices of the 16F628 but not as i cant find any cheaper shop ! Do you guys know of a wery cheap grossist ?
Im tax registered so i can purchase in such places which dont deal with "private" customers ...
I've been following the discussion regarding the cheapest price on the F84 at Crownhill but are Crownhill also cheap with the F628 and do they sell quantitys ?
Best Regards
Lasse Madsen

Digikey ( http://www.digikey.com ) carries the F84 at US$4.37, the
F84A at US$3.36, and the F628 at US$1.92 in their on-line catalog.
(These prices are for quantity 100, -04P, DIP variety.)

I don't know what your customs implications would be for you to order
from them.

Regards, Bob

Pretty much the same in NZ and I presume Australia too. F628 is $$$
cheaper than F84. Not only that, but the F628 is the preferred stock
now

Have you tried http://www.arrownordic.com

Arrow are the distributor down under, and that's where I shop,
especially for tube quantities. Retail outlets or mail order
catalogues are a last resort

I quit following the cheapest pic thread, but was
wondering if anyone has bought them through
JDRMicrodevices yet?  I order lots of parts from them,
and have found the 16F84 (they carry both 4 and 10MHz
versions) to be pretty cheap.  The 4 MHz version is
something like $4.22 in orders of 25 or more, and only
$4.60-ish in single quantities.

I know the other thread was looking for a supplier
directly in the UK - which is why I didn't respond
there.  :)

Good luck,

ATM

Pioneer is $3.63, cheaper in 100's for the 4MHz.

Watch the S&H with these "real" distributors as opposed
to the hobbyist suppliers though.

Have a look at http://www.microzed.com.au

16F628/20 A$9.00 inc GST same as F84A/20   16F877/20 A$19.80

With exchange rates at the moment that would make it £3.06 and £6.73
respectively. They should take 10%GST off for export orders although as I'm
sure you know Mr Vatman will relieve you of 17.5%.

Quite a shock once, when the Post Office refused to deliver until I'd paid
them the VAT.

Hi Colin, if you're thinking of buying from them, you could do
better at Arrow

16F628-20 A$4.71 (inc),  16F84A-20 A$7.29 (inc)

That's for tube lots of 25. Stretch to a tube of 16F628s and you're
paying virtually half-price. Hurts sometimes, having to buy a tube,
but I've found over time it's a false economy not to bite the bullet
and buy in bulk. Always helps too when you can claw the GST back,
nice bit of pocket money some months
