'[PIC]: Tx and Rx modules'

Hi,

Has anyone got a web reference where I could find Tx and Rx modules using a
PIC? I am trying to develop a RF alarm for my car - that could transmit a
signal to me when the alarm is activated. Thank you.

If you are referring to  RF transmitter and receiver modules (?), then I
have used both the Abacom (http://www.abacom-tech.com) and the Linx
(http://www.linxtechnologies.com) RX and TX modules with PIC chips in the past,
both for OOK and serial data transmission.

I have successfully used Wensching RF Transmitters/Receivers (Modulation: AM,
Frequency: 300-433MHz, Supply: 1.5V-15V, RF Output Power: 8mW, Sensitivity:
3uVmms)
They are very cheap ($9.95 for each module), and can be bought from
RadioShack; catalog numbers 900-6895 and 900-6896
Please note that RadioShack does not carry the modules in their stores - you
have to have them ship it to you.

I have found these modules to work quite well with regular serial data
(RS232). I am currently updating my web-page regarding these chips: I found
that they had a few quirks to them I wanted to document. Check there in a few
days... (http://www.cyclotomic.com/~martin/projects.html)

The output power is not very strong, so range is limited. I don't see any
reason why you shouldn't be able to amplify their output, however (well,
except for the FCC *grin*)

I have a list of links to many such modules at:
