'[PIC]: Transition sockets for ICE'

Hello Piclisters,

i use my Mplab ICE2000 Emu mostly to evaluate SMT type designs. Therefore, i
always be in need for the transition sockets which are the small connectors
that are directly soldered into the applications board. These are pretty
expensive when ordered from Microchip. Actually they sell 3 pcs. for about
30 USD.

Does anybody know of a second source for that part because i use up 3 pcs.
per month.

Thany you

There are several other sources for these sockets, such as Emulation
Technology.  Microchip's prices are WAAAY lower than any of the other
sources, like about 1/3 or less of their prices.

If you find ones at lower prices that Microchip's, I'd like to know about
it.

For an Atmel-based project in a TQFP-44 package, I would up paying nearly
$300 for a transition socket.  Since their pinout was odd, I wasn't able to
substitute the Microchip socket.
