Albert,

Examples are well and good, but my advice to you would be to pick a
compiler, and start writing programs, compile them, and work out the
errors you get.   This will get you up the learning curve faster
than examples alone.  Or at least in my opinion it would.  This is
the way I learned C for PICs.  Of course, I knew some C going into
it.  But, working the errors out will get you intimate with the
syntax and program construction in short order.  Believe me.

I second that.  I did the same thing, and I *DIDN'T* know C going in.
Took a few days to learn the basics, still learning the finer points.  No
teacher is faster than experience (though many are more throrough!)
