'[PIC]: RICE-16, what was it?'
2002\07\16@142343 by Barry Gershenfeld

face picon face
I was given a RICE-16 here at work.  The late Advanced Transdata site
did not have any documentation or software available for this.  I
guess it was a plug-in 16Csomething emulator.   Even if I were to
unearth the docs and sw somewhere, what would this thing be
good for?   Or maybe I should cut the ribbon cables off and
make an attractive paperweight.

It is kind of handsome...

I could use those clip hooks elsewhere...

I really like my 16F877 ICD setup...

Followup: I found the diskette.  It may well be all the
software this thing needs to run.  The question remains:
Is it really any good for anything?  Anyone ever had one?

Till next time,
Barry

Barry,

I've got a RICE-16 emulator and all the documentation. I also believe I
have the last release of the Windows IDE software as well. If you'd
like, contact me off-list and I can email the software to you.

And yes, it's actually quite a good little emulator! (I was very
disappointed in Advanced Transdata's demise -- they made very good,
affordable tools and supported them well...)
