I've switched to the 16F877A from a 16F877 and having a problem with my code. Before I get into a long drawn-out discussion of the exact problem .. are there some standard things I should to to make the "a" version act like the original (non-a) ? I haven't used the 16F87xA yet, but I did notice the other day that these have a comparator added. But it might be worth a few minutes for you to peruse Microchip's website - look under the heading "Engineer's Toolbox" (2nd heading at the top). There are many goodies on that website - not all are easy to find but the stuff in that section will save you time. In this case, I thought that I remembered something from a previous visit. Note: didn't know for sure and didn't know where it was. One thing that is not in that document (and I've complained to Microchip): The code protection options are different. If you used to code protect the top 1/4, for example, that option is no longer available. Well, at least on the 873 -- I'm assuming the 877 is the same.
