hello All,

When executing a GOTO instruction, the high order part of the program
counter is fetched from PCLATCH.
But does PCLATCH always hold the high order part of the program counter ??
So if during normal execution the program counter is incremented, is
PCLATCH also incremented ??

thanks in advance,
Stef Mientki

You wrote the operative word above.  That word is: "fetched".  This is a
one way street.  A change in the program counter does NOT change
PCLATH.  So the answers to your questions are:

>But does PCLATCH always hold the high order part of the program counter ??

No.  The program counter can (does) change but that does NOT affect PCLATH.

>So if during normal execution the program counter is incremented, is
>PCLATCH also incremented ??

Also NO.
