This is interesting indeed, especially because you can purchase the whole
kit for US$30.  The only problem is that the site is only readable by
Russians and Russian-speaking Yugoslavs.  ;-)

Is not completely true. I am Hungarian and I can also read (even
understand) the page. I think it is rather the matter of font-server and
the age and location of the reader <grin> .

oops you forgot the Russian-speaking Bulgarians..., did you guys forgot who
invent the Cyrillic alphabet? ;-)

actually the prices quoted on http://u1.chat.ru/price.htm#1 are different

Picstarter+    2950 Russian Roubles (=$96,37373 according to http://www.oanda.com)
MICD    1150 Russian Roubles (=$37.56942 according to http://www.oanda.com)

but still far below Microchip prices!

Best regards
Tsvetan

No, Tsvetan, Russians will never forget Cyrill and Methodius, who brought us
the Good News of Christ and a wonderful alphabet.  :-)

See - you did not *completely* understand the page!  >;-)

It reads "2950 Russian Roubles for the assembled circuit, RS232 cable, and a
9V power supply".  You can also purchase a kit containing the PCB, PIC17C44,
L1 (100 mcH), and a 25MHz crystal for 890RUR = US$29.09.

Imre - I know for sure that I don't understand a word of Hungarian, I tried
reading labels on Hungarian green peas and came across some Hungarian
websites that I could not read.  It is a mystery why you speak a language
totally unrelated to Slavic.  :-)

Well, this conversation is becoming less and less PIC-related, so if you
decide to reply, please change the subject to [OT]:

Best regards,

Vitaliy
