Hello everyone!  I finally got into the world of PICs and as my first
project, I'm building a harddrive interface with FAT16/32 capability.  It
started off as a BS2 project, but since I've switched over to PICs, I
thought I'd better stop bothering the basicstamp group... :)

Cool. Nifty. Neat-o.

With a Basic Stamp!?!?!

You know that if you get it to compile in the Hitech C compiler and change
the schematic a bit, you could win a contest, right?

Measure twice, cut once, curse, discard. Repeat.

Yeah, I'm considering it.  But, I haven't been able to get the HEX files
from PICC to run in my 16F877.  BasicMicro's IDE will download the HEX, but
the pic is dead after that, until I download another program.

I was so surprized what the Basic Stamp could do!  I had all the FAT16 code
required to create and append a file with room to spare.

Ok, I just realized why I can't get a HEX file to write to the chip.  I
can't just load the HEX file and write it, by default all the options are
turned on (WDT, brownout, RC Osc) and have to be turned off for it to work.
So, now I'm going to switch to using HiTech's PICC instead of Optama.
