'[PIC]: Minimal 16F84, 16F87X Assembler?'

Am looking for a simple, small assembler to generate code for Subj
PICs (to test out homebrew programming hardware).  At this point, I
merely want to view generated machine code so I can feed it to the
hardware by way of other software.

Alternatively, is the machine code documented somewhere so I could
assemble a few lines by hand?

Thanks,

Steve

Download MPLAB from the Micrchip web site.  It is free and includes an
assembler.

Yes, see the "Instruction Set Summary" section of the data sheet.

The version I have has two assemblers, mpasm.exe which has a kind of
DOS text-moe windowing thing going, and mpasmwin.exe which has a Windows
interface. You don't see either if you use mplab. They will both
work as absolute assemblers (no seperate linking step required).

Hi,
if u need a simpler and a smaller one with an alternative instruction set
like 8051, visit http://www.tech-tools.com, and look for cvasm.

Imre

Hi,

sorry, I am using only the RS5C313 rtc, made by Ricoh, as it is available
from our Microchip distributor, for $2. If interested, I can send the C
code, how to deal with this.

Regards,
Imre
