I attended the Mechatronics seminar at the Arrow office in Raleigh last week.

Pretty basic stuff but that was spelled out in the registration overview.
It was MASTERs lite for me since I didn't get to go out in July.   :-)

The Mechatronics dev board is a good mix of sensors and outputs.
It came with the seminar fee which was less than the purchase price plus breakfast and lunch.
So it cost me a day of time but got a chance to chat with the Microchip FAE's for this area.

Just when I was getting caught up Microchip nomenclature they've started using the "J" in new part numbers.
OK, so the windowed EPROM parts were really "JW" instead of just  "J" but couldn't they pick a different letter?

Product Selector Guide          Last Updated: 9/26/05

They didn't update the naming convention chart at the end of the Product Selector Guide.

There's a bunch that end in J10 and J15.
PIC18F44J10
PIC18F45J10
PIC18F65J15
PIC18F66J10
PIC18F45J10 Family Data Sheet
PIC18F87J10 Family Data Sheet

These PIC24 parts have JTAG support so maybe that's it.
PIC24FJ128GA006
PIC24FJ128GA008
PIC24FJ128GA010
PIC24FJ64GA006

As far as I know, new parts made in a finer chip process
and that runs at 3.3 V (max). At least, that's how I have
understood things...

I do not think that "J" = "JTAG"
(even if the PIC24J parts does have JTAG...).

Jan-Erik.
