'[PIC]: MPLAB 5.11 problems'

I had been using MPLAB 5.0, and just upgraded to 5.11.  This new version
seems totally hosed!  It complains about the processor setting being invalid
whenever I try to open a project that worked fine with 5.0.

I thought there might be some incompatibility from 5.0 to 5.11, so I created
a whole new project in 5.11.  I set the process, etc., to what I was using,
and did the appropriate APPLY.  All the settings seemed correct.  I then
exited MPLAB and then got back in it.  It complained about inavlid processor
as soon as I tried to open the project I had just created and exited out of.

I noticed that version 5.11.02 is on the Microchip web site.  I've tried
several times to download that, but it always times out after getting about
a megabyte out of 10.

Anybody got any other experiences with these versions?  Would someone from
Microchip like to comment on this issue?

Olin,

V5.11 has a problem with projects if PICSTART Plus and PRO MATE drivers are
not installed.  Go to the Microchip web page and just add those elements to
your current installation and everything should work ok.  We're getting
v5.11.02 posted up there now which does not have this problem.

Thanks for the help, that did the trick.  I had the Picstart Plus support
but not the ProMate support installed.  I re-installed from the CD same as
before except ProMate support added and all seems well now.

MPLAB 5.11.02 is fixed but uninstall the previous version AND DELETE ANY FILES
LEFT AFTER UNINSTALLING (except your projects etc of course) before installing
5.11.02.

Alternatively 5.11.00 will work if you install all options on the first options
screen in the install program (all the different emulators and programmers).
