'[PIC]: MPLAB+ICD bug'

Hi,

This may have cropped up before ?

When running MPLAB with the Microchip ICD and stepping through some C
source [Bytecraft compiler], if I "step over" a function MPLAB crashes
nicely.....and causes Windows to require a warm reboot to rectify matters.
Which, of course, is just the tonic when you are already utterly fed up
chasing an obscure bug.

Has anyone else observed this and is there a workaround (apart from not
using the "step over" functionality(!)) ?

Regards,

Dan

Count yourself lucky the "Step Over" function does anything different to the
"Step" function!! I've never been able to get it to work properly, I
generaly use the "Run to here" option to simulate step over.

Hi,

Yeah, I know about this!......When "step over" occasionally works, it does
actually step into the function call. Maybe it works if you write in
assembler and not 'C' (?!) (Best place for assembler is in a list file, in
my opinion....Assembler is what we have contractors for ;-)

I'll bear that in mind, though. I was using the break points as it seemed a
bit safer but too many mouse clicks for my liking.

Cheers,
Dan
