Ooooh...Ahhhhh Looks really neat. Register indirect addressing with
pre/post inc/dec (tally operations! you guys will love this, can't wait to
see how they messed it up though ;oD) Multiply, multiword shifting, barrel
shifting (yay) I wish I had time to read the datasheet right now.

I'm going to the Masters Seminar in Phoenix. I have signed up for the dsPic
class.
I will let you know what I think when I return.
Any body else going to the Masters?
Let me know, we can have a glass of bubbly, and talk about the other
PicListers. :-)

Dan,
I read an article in "Electronic Design" today and they
are saying between US$3.00-$9.00 in 10K. The article said that
they are planning to have 20 different versions of these chips by
the end of the first quarter of 2002.

Definitely the night before. I would hate to have to try to register and get
settled in the first day of the seminar. There will be way to much
happening.
beside I can soak up some of that sunshine at the pool the day before. :-)

"Microchip s dsPIC devices are expected to range from $3-$9 each in
10,000-unit
quantities. Beta sampling of the first devices is planned for fourth
quarter 2001.
General product sampling and hardware development tools are planned for first
quarter 2002. Software development tools are expected in August 2001.
Volume
production is expected in 2002."
Next time, go to http://www.microchip.com and click on "Product News", you can
read the press releases direct from the PR dep't of Microchip before the
magazine editors have had a go at them.

To get there more directly (dsPIC info):

It looks interesting. I was considering looking into DSP some time,
hopefully this will be out by the time I start needing such functionality.
