Hi,

I am working on a project where there are two 12F629 pics. I don't have the special chip for ICD debugging for these so I am only using the ICD2 as a ICSP programmer together with MPLAB 6.30.

I have the PIC's configured for internal RC no clock and MCLR enable as internal (using all 6 IO's).

When programming the chip, MPLAB tells me that "MPLAB ICD2 does not support programming this device if both the internal oscillator and internal MCLR are selected".

However, this is working just fine - programming and reprogramming.
Is this something I should be worried about? I would like to be able to reprogram the pics in circuit also on production units. Is there a risk for this not working with other 12F629 devices?

Regards / Ruben

I'm curious as to the technical reasons for this.
