'[PIC]: ICD: MPL876.HEX source code?'

Hi folks!

I recently have seen some notes about the
ICD from Microchip, and dont understand some
things.

Anybody has the source code of MPL876.HEX?
What is the legal status of this file?
It can be dissasembled freely, or has copyright?

Having the assembler source code one can build a different circuit
that works with MPLAB. In example, the high voltage generator
can be made differently...
It may be a great help to obtain the message codes between
MPLAB and the Microchip's ICD.

And, another last question:
When using the ICD, the debug code that runs on the target PIC
must be written by the user
or is embedded in MPL876.HEX? How words occupes this code in the target
PIC?

Regards,
        Alejandro.

I don't think the source code has ever been distributed. Reverse engineering
it to source may be legal in some jurisdictions (but not in the US, IIRC)

That _would_ be very nice.

I am pretty sure the debug code is embedded in MPL876.HEX. The resources
used in the target PIC are described accurately in the ICD documentation.
